A TimeThis Note for OS X Mavericks Users

If you have recently upgraded to OS X Mavericks for Mac, you’ll need to be aware of a new feature called App Nap that significantly affects the performance of TimeThis.

On Apple’s website it states, OS X can tell when an app is completely hidden behind other windows. And if that app isn’t currently doing something for you — playing music, downloading a file, or checking email, for example — App Nap conserves valuable battery life by slowing the app down.”

While this is a great feature, it affects TimeThis’ ability to accurately count time as it runs in the background.

Fortunately, there is an easy fix. App Nap can be turned off on a “per app” basis.

All you have to do is go to TimeThis_V2.app, select “Get Info” from the context menu and choose to disable App Nap.

We hope this resolves any issues you might have been having and as always, thanks for using TimeThis!
